MeRT stands for Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy. This cutting-edge technology uses the combined technologies of qEEG*, EKG*, and rTMS* to build a custom-fit treatment protocol that is designed to restore healthy brain communication.

What makes MeRT unique is that it is highly customized for each individual based on sophisticated diagnostics. Since every brain is unique, no treatment is the same.
MeRT is non-surgical, non-invasive, and non-pharmaceutical.

  • *qEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram). Firstly, this non-invasive procedure involves placing electrodes along the scalp in order to map your brainwaves.
  • *EKG (electrocardiogram). At the same time, this procedure measures electrical signals coming from your heart. This helps us target the therapy to be as accurate as possible.
  • *rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation). Following the two procedures above, this third procedure uses magnetic coils placed along your scalp to stimulate specific areas of the brain.

What conditions does MeRT treat?

  • Anxiety/Panic Attacks
  • Autism
  • Cognitive Decline
  • Concussions
  • Drug or alcohol addiction
  • Developmental disorders such as autism, ADD, ADHD
  • Dementia/Alzheimers
  • Major Depression Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • PTSD
  • Traumatic Brain Injury

How it works

“After one week of MeRT, my son was able to better control his emotions, slow down, and use his coping skills to get through meltdowns.”

Parent of child with Autism Spectrum Disorder

“My daughter is back to being a normal kid. She started exercising again, sleeping better, making new friends, planning outfits for school, and getting her grades back on track.”

Parent of teen with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression

“I’m feeling real returns for the first time in four years – connecting to old music and feeling the weight of my depression lifting.”

Adult with Treatment Resistant Depression

The Four Steps to MeRT

Before starting any treatment, we first perform a qEEG and an EKG. We use these diagnostic tests to determine brain frequencies and brain-heart coherence.

After testing, we use a scientific and patented approach with the data gathered. We then develop a tailored treatment plan for each individual with the goal of restoring function and brain communication.

Once your treatment protocols are in place, you will come for daily treatment, five days per week. While you’re comfortably seated, a trained neuro-technician will apply a magnetic coil to a designated location on your head. This device produces a low-intensity magnetic field to induce mild electrical signals in the brain’s targeted areas. However, you will feel no pain — just a mild sensation. Daily treatment duration is typically 30 minutes, with the magnetic stimulation occurring for six to eight seconds every minute. We will ask you to close your eyes during the six-to-eight-second treatment period.

After each two-week treatment period, we will perform a qEEG and EKG to monitor progress and update your protocol. Further, to achieve optimal success and durability from MeRT, we recommend six to eight weeks of treatment.

It is important to note that results are based on strict compliance with our treatment regimens. Moreover, results may vary based on the individual patient and are not guaranteed. Currently, rTMS is FDA cleared for the treatment of Major Depression Disorder and OCD. However, treatment for all other conditions is currently considered “off label.”

Numerous studies have shown the effectiveness of MeRT treatment on various conditions and research is ongoing.

Benefits of MeRT can include the following:

  • Reduced anxiety/panic attacks
  • Improved Sleep, reduce insomnia
  • Improved Social Skills
  • Better Concentration and Focus
  • Improved Memory and Mental Clarity
  • Decreased Pain
  • Better Mood
  • Improved Ability to Cope with Stress
  • Increased attention span
  • Increased motivation
  • Fewer cravings (such as drugs or alcohol)
  • Improved emotional stability
  • Increased ability to adapt to change
  • Improved self-confidence and self-esteem

“What we’ve learned is that everyone has a unique frequency or unique signature.”

“All of us during our wakeful hours, [has] something called an Alpha frequency where our brain most comfortably operates. It’s a cycle rate where we’re all somewhere between 8 and 13 Hertz. And you might be, for example, an 11.4 Hertz brain. I might be an 8.9 Hertz brain. And somebody else might be a 10.3 Hertz brain. It’s just kind of where were born.”

“But when we get these brain images, whether it’s through the physical trauma of a blast injury, or the chemical trauma of years of drug use, or the emotional trauma of seeing a loved one pass away, we may find areas of the brain that are not cycling at the same rate as the rest of our cortex area that’s not working properly and try to stimulate it and remind it that it wants to fire at a certain frequency and a certain rate.”

“Trauma is not just an internal, ethereal, emotional thing – but there’s actual parts of the brain where you can see that it actually had an impact. EEG’s, or electrical images of the brain, can tell us when there are abnormalities in neural networks – we can see for example if nobody has an area in the left prefrontal cortex that is cycling at 2 Hertz which means that part of the brain may only be processing information at a rate of 2 times/ second whereas the rest of your brain may be cycling at 11 Hertz or 11 times/second which means that information mismatch may manifest for someone as depression, they may lack motivation, feel lethargic, not want to get out of bed, but in a different scenario it may manifest as anxiety. Nobody has a perfect brain, for the most part we can look at these signals and find areas that are abnormal, and navigate to the area that’s not working properly, try to stimulate it, and again remind it that it wants to fire at a certain frequency and at a certain rate.”
